“These crimes must stop”: Svitolina speaks out about her involvement with a program to return Ukrainian children who were stolen by Russia
Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina has spoken out about her involvement with a program to return Ukrainian children who were stolen by Russia.
Svitolina, who is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, said that she was “deeply disturbed” by the reports of children being taken from their homes and sent to Russia.
Svitolina said that she had been working with UNICEF to help return these children to their families.
She said that the program had already helped to return 100 children to their homes, and that she was hoping to help return many more.
Svitolina said that she was inspired by the stories of the children who had been returned to their families.
She said that one child had told her that he had been forced to learn Russian and that he had been told that he was now a Russian citizen.
Svitolina said that this was a “clear violation of international law” and that she was determined to help stop these crimes.
She said that she was calling on the international community to do more to help return these children to their families.
Svitolina also said that she was working with UNICEF to provide support to the families of the children who had been stolen.
She said that these families were often traumatized and that they needed help to rebuild their lives.
Svitolina said that she was proud to be a part of this program and that she was determined to help make a difference in the lives of these children.
“These crimes must stop,” she said, adding that every effort must be made to return the children to their families and hold those responsible for stealing them to account.
