Russia warns of 'consequences' if West deploys long-range missiles in Europe

Moscow has warned the West that there will be “consequences” if it deploys long-range missiles in Europe.
The warning came from the secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolai Bordyuzha.
Bordyuzha said such a deployment would be a “serious threat” to Russia's security.
“We will be forced to take countermeasures to ensure our own security,” he said.
The US has said it is considering deploying land-based intermediate-range missiles in Europe in response to Russia's deployment of similar missiles in Kaliningrad.
The US has also accused Russia of violating the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, which bans the deployment of such missiles.
Russia has denied violating the treaty, but has said it will not be bound by it if the US deploys missiles in Europe.
