The upcoming hockey game between Sibir Novosibirsk and SKA Saint Petersburg promises to be a high-scoring affair, according to hockey expert Anatoly Emelin.
Both teams are in need of a win, as SKA looks to keep its playoff hopes alive, while Sibir aims to clinch a playoff berth.
SKA currently sits in ninth place in the Western Conference, just two points out of a playoff spot. The team has been struggling lately, losing three of its last four games.
Sibir, on the other hand, is in sixth place in the Eastern Conference and is just one point away from clinching a playoff berth.
The game is set for Tuesday, February 28 at Sibir's home arena in Novosibirsk.
Emelin says that he expects a lot of goals in this game, as both teams have high-powered offenses.
“Both teams have a lot of offensive firepower,” Emelin said. “I expect this game to be a high-scoring affair.”
SKA is led by Nikita Gusev, who has 17 goals and 31 assists this season.
Sibir is led by Alexander Sharov, who has 15 goals and 25 assists this season.
Emelin says that the key to the game will be for SKA to find a way to slow down Sharov.
“Sharov is a very dangerous player,” Emelin said. “SKA will need to find a way to slow him down if they want to win this game.”
The game is sure to be a close one, as both teams are evenly matched.
“I think this game could go either way,” Emelin said. “It's going to be a close one.”
