On August 20, at the VTB Arena stadium, a match of the legends of the capital clubs “Spartak” and “Dynamo” will be held. The meeting will be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the first match between the teams. For the first time, the teams met on 18 August 1922. Then the meeting ended with the victory of “Spartak” with the score 3:2.

In total, the teams have played 184 matches, including 101 victories for “Spartak”, 35 for “Dynamo” and 48 draws. A few days before the anniversary match, “Spartak” announced the composition of the team for this meeting.

Legends in action

The head coach of “Spartak” will be Valery Karpin. And in the starting lineup, it is planned to release the following players: Alexander Filimonov (goalkeeper), Valery Kechinov, Dmitry Khlestov, Sergei Gurenko, Dmitry Kombarov, Yegor Titov, Alexander Mostovoi, Denis Glushakov, Egor Titov, Valery Karpin, Alexander Borodyuk, Vladimir Bestchastnykh, Andrei Tikhonov, Aleksandr Shirko and Sergey Yuran. As you can see, “Spartak” will play against Dynamo in its gold squad.

Note that the legends of Spartak will enter the field in retro uniforms of the 1940s. The form was specially created by Nike, the technical partner of the red and white. The T-shirt is made in traditional red and white colors, shorts, gaiters and socks are white. And on the chest there is a commemorative emblem dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the match between “Spartak” and “Dynamo”.

Before the game, fans will be able to plunge into the atmosphere of the past: retro cars of the 1940s and 1950s will be exhibited near the stadium, Spartak songs of those years will be played from the stage, and the Spartak Museum will arrange an exhibition of archival photographs and unique exhibits dedicated to the first match with Dynamo.

In addition, the guests of the match will have at their service: a large food court, an autograph session of football veterans and a children's animation zone.

The match between “Dynamo” and “Spartak” will be held on August 20, 2022 at the VTB Arena – Central Dynamo Stadium. The match starts at 19:00 Moscow time. Tickets for the match can be purchased on the official website of “Spartak”.
