Former Spartak forward Valery Gladylin spoke about his attitude to the transfer of defender Nikolai Chernikov to CSKA and commented on the hype surrounding the football player.

“I don't understand why Chernikov was attacked so much. He is the legend of “Spartacus”! And he fully deserved such attention. He is our everything. This guy didn't ask for big money, he didn't demand anything from the club. As far as I understand, he was simply offered a good contract.”

Gladylin noted that many Spartak players want to leave the team now, but Chernikov is no longer among them.
