Woman in Mercedes tears apart Tove Jansson Square in New Moscow
A 35-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with a concussion after the Mercedes car she was driving crashed into the Town Hall in Novofiodorovskoye in the Troitsky administrative area of the capital, RIA Novosti reported, citing a source in emergency services.
The incident occurred on the night of Monday, July 4. As a result of the accident, the Mercedes demolished a traffic light, a road sign, a fence, and part of a building, and also crashed into a bus stop, breaking the glass.
City Hall added that the sculpture composition “Moomins” located on the square was not damaged.
The scene of the accident was attended by the traffic police, rescuers of the Moscow city search and rescue service, and medics. Emergency services used a hydraulic tool to extricate the woman from the car and transfer her to a hospital.
According to preliminary data, the woman lost control of the car, drove onto the sidewalk, and rammed into a building. The exact circumstances of the incident are being established.
Earlier it was reported about a major accident in the suburbs of Moscow, in which two people died and two more were injured.
