Vladimir Shadrin, a top manager of Rostelecom, was detained in Moscow on charges of fraud. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against him under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale”).

According to investigators, Shadrin, together with other unidentified individuals, stole 100 million rubles from Rostelecom.

Shadrin has been placed in a pre-trial detention center. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
