NICOSIA, Cyprus – Cyprus stunned Lithuania 2-1 in their UEFA Nations League Group C4 clash at the GSP Stadium on Tuesday.
The hosts took the lead in the 22nd minute when Ioannis Pittas' cross found Loizos Ioannou, who headed home from close range.
Lithuania equalized in the 51st minute through Arvydas Novikovas, who tapped in from close range after a cross from the left.
However, Cyprus regained the lead in the 61st minute when Harris Kakoullis fired home a low shot from the edge of the area.
The win moves Cyprus up to second place in the group with six points from four games, while Lithuania remain bottom with one point.
Cyprus will face Luxembourg away in their next match on Saturday, while Lithuania will host Northern Ireland.
