Cryptopia Liquidation Claims Process Begins for Hacked Exchange Users

Users of Cryptopia Finally Have Path to Reclaim Lost Crypto

Liquidator Expects Claim Registration to Open Soon

After years of waiting, users of the hacked New Zealand cryptocurrency exchange Cryptopia can now make claims to recover their lost funds. The exchange was placed into liquidation following a serious hack in 2019 that resulted in the loss of 30 million dollars in cryptocurrency holdings.

The liquidator of Cryptopia, Grant Thornton New Zealand, has announced that it expects to start the claim registration process in the near future. Users will be able to submit claims through an online portal that will be set up by the liquidator.

The process of liquidating Cryptopia has been complex and time-consuming. The liquidator has had to untangle the exchange's complex financial affairs and identify all of its creditors.
