*** ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – May 30, 2024 – A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash with another vehicle. The incident occurred at approximately 9:41 am this morning. Emergency responders are currently at the scene. The extent of the motorcyclist's injuries is unknown at this time. In a separate incident, two motorcyclists died in crashes in Peel Region on Thursday night. The first crash occurred at 10:55 pm on Highway 401 near Dixie Road. The second crash occurred at 11:30 pm on Highway 427 near Finch Avenue. The victims of these crashes have not yet been identified. Lane splitting is only legal in eight states, including California, Utah, and Oregon. This practice is controversial, with some arguing that it is dangerous and should be banned. Others argue that it is a safe and efficient way to travel.
