In a surprising turn of events, the Cleveland Browns defeated the Houston Texans 36-22 in the Wild Card Round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday night. The Browns, who were led by quarterback Joe Flacco, improved to 3-1 with Flacco under center, while the Texans' season came to an end.
The game was close throughout the first half, with the two teams trading touchdowns. However, the Browns took control of the game in the second half, thanks in large part to the play of wide receiver Amari Cooper. Cooper set a franchise record with 265 receiving yards and scored two touchdowns, including a 2-point conversion.
The Texans were unable to keep up with the Browns' high-powered offense, and they eventually fell behind by 14 points. The Texans made a late push in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late. The Browns held on to win the game 36-22.
The Browns will now advance to the Divisional Round of the playoffs, where they will face the Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans will have to wait until next season to try to make another run at the Super Bowl.
